DO XUAN DOAN

Do Xuan Doan was born in 1937; he was a student of the lacquer painter Nguyen Gia Tri. In 1961, he graduated from the Lacquer Department of Vietnam University of Fine Arts. His lacquer paintings are attached to the image of nature and the people of Hanoi in the 30-40s.

Do Xuan Doan’s work has a creative layout and a relaxed style. His paintings often have a bold colour palette. The pure red colour blends gently with yellow-brown, blue-green, etc. His pictures are collected and displayed in domestic and international art museums.
